Amber with Prince Aidan and Princess Trinity
You could say I've been dreaming up designs since I was a little girl. Growing up in the retail industry, I watched my parents create one-of-a-kind designs and was fascinated at the creative process. I began taking scraps of fabric and creating my own doll clothing as well as little accessories for myself. I dreamed of owning my own clothing boutique, with formalwear and wedding gowns and at night I would dream up the most beautiful and elegant dresses. The designs just came to me, in those dreamscapes late at night somewhere between sleep and awake. My wedding dress was my own design. It came to me in a dream many months before my husband proposed, but once he did, my mother Jan and I began working on it diligently! With her sewing expertise and my creativity, we created something so unique, so elegant, and so beautiful that I had many compliments for months on end. Fast forward four years, and I was pregnant with my son and "nesting" like crazy on his nursery. I knew exactly what I wanted...with no luck finding it anywhere. I was devasted! I didn't want frogs, teddy bears, trucks or puppies. I didn't want a theme in that way. His room is painted in green and blue stripes with black furniture, and to honor my husband's Irish heritage, I wanted some kind of celtic knotwork or embroidery or perhaps anything with green and shamrocks. But I found nothing at all and I had to do what no mom wants to do---I had to compromise! I ended up buying solids.
My life changed January 19, 2007 when my son Aidan was born. All of a sudden my goals changed and I wanted nothing more than to see his face every day and watch him grow---something I didn't get to do with my daughter. My dear friend was pregnant that same year with a girl, and even though the market is saturated with girly things, she couldn't find what she wanted either! Needless to say, something inside me snapped and I got right to designing her custom nursery bedding in the colors she wanted. And that's how this started. I found that I'm much happier when designing baby bedding and accessories and with my mother's help, I've begun a new chapter in my life: Two Crowns Bedding, named for my own little prince and princess. So while Dreamscapes was the name I had chosen years ago for my boutique, Baby was added after it.
No mom should have to worry about not finding the perfect bedding, the perfect outfit, or the perfect gift! I've made it my mission to not only offer the best in custom baby bedding with my personal consultations and OOAK designs, but to constantly seek out those rare and unique but stylish baby clothes and designer diaper bags as well. With designer brands like OiOi, Fleurville, BabyLegs and Uncommonly Cute, you can be sure you'll find the best for your baby!
